Fabriplas have three Laser cutting machines, which means we can now laser cut up to 2500 x 1500 in one pass. Fabriplas will also use materials such as Acrylics, reason for using Acrylics is because the edge finish is a very high quality and looks like a polished item. With laser cutting you will get a precise method of cutting design and a excellent accuracy. We can laser cut and engrave up to a size of 2500 x 1500, but have smaller machines at 1200 x 900 and 900 x 600. Our lasers are also perfect for Clear Perspex Cut to Size to your exact requirements.

What does CNC stand for (Computer Numerical Control) and the way this works is a computer converts a drawing design into numbers using CAD software. The numbers are used as coordinates and the CNC machine uses these to control the movement of the cutter, which then creates shapes that you are looking for. The movement of the machine is controlled via the axis of X,Y and Z, this allows material to be machined in 3 directions. With this we are able to produce custom shapes in plastics.

For each unique project, a variety of polishing methods become essential, offering options like Flame Polishing, Buff Polishing, and Diamond Polishing.

Flame polishing, involving a gas nozzle and flame, fuses acrylic edges to create a polished finish.

Buffing polishing is suitable for many plastic materials and employs a cloth wheel, but it’s limited to specific surfaces, avoiding intricate, sharp, fragile, or recessed areas. While it produces a smooth finish, it can also round edges.

Diamond polishing is primarily used on acrylics up to 25mm thick, refining sawn edges to an almost flawless clear gloss finish. The process employs a machine that feeds acrylic along a track, passing it over a rotating, diamond-tipped cutter, which carefully removes material to achieve a polished appearance.
